Little Joys for Runners Only

  1. Passing someone on a bike
  2. Passing someone on a bike who isn't a kid or overweight
  3. Passing someone on a bike that isn't a cruiser, mountain bike, or comfort hybrid
  4. Feeling better in the last two miles than the first two
  5. Never having to get in shape for swimsuit season
  6. Running fast enough to notice the Doppler effect
  7. Eating all the carbs you want
  8. Being encouraged to eat all the carbs you want
  9. Instantly having at least an hour's worth of conversation when meeting other runners
  10. Farting on the run (There is no greater physically relieving sensation.  None.)
  11. Staying in great shape without paying for a gym membership
  12. Staying in great shape without buying expensive equipment
  13. Watching horror movies, thinking "I could outrun that guy."
  14. Thinking "I'm so glad I ran today" only an hour after thinking "I really don't wanna run today"
